Charity Knitting
The Charity Knitting group, headed up by me, Amanda, meets every Monday night from 7-9pm to socialize while knitting for others. During every quarter, we feature a new charity we're knitting for (just to keep the projects interesting), but you are welcome to knit for your favorite charity at any time.
Can't make it on Mondays? No problem-- You can knit-along at home, and drop off finished projects at any time; I'll make sure it gets where it needs to go! If you need a pattern, I've posted one here on our site, or check out www.p2designs.com; Patti Pierce Stone has a wide selection of really great free patterns for charity knitting.
Our line-up of charities/projects is:
Jan-March: We'll be working for a variety of charities that need a variety of goodies! We've made friends with a few of the battered women's shelters in the southtowns and they will be receiving prayer shawls and newborn-sized items. The refugee organizations in Buffalo will receive any size sweaters, and the shop is featuring an Easter tree! We'll be collecting newborn baby booties and hats to hang from the Easter tree. And, as always, we're a drop-off site for Project Linus blankets.
