There are LOTS of charity knitting circles out there. Knitters call to ask me about them all the time. That’s because charity knitting groups are feel-good groups. You get to get-together with a nice group of crafters while creating items for a good cause–it’s a win-win!
I made it a personal goal this year to try and pay a visit to these groups, so that when people call to ask me about them, I could actually tell them about having spent time with them.
I started with the knitting group at the Eden Public Library. They meet the first Saturday morning of every month in the library’s community room. Sometimes the crafters knit or crochet for a specific charity, and sometimes the crafters create things that get displayed in the library for people to buy and the money earned goes back to the library (that’s COOL!).
They have a ton of donated yarn to work with, and there were lots of snacks to be shared. It was a good group and a good time!!!
And you should see the beautiful items they made—great job gals!!!
